In a fresh twist to Pranjal Revanna’s sexual harassment case, the National Commission of Women made a fresh revelation on Friday.

According to NCW, the women allegedly approached them, claiming that they were forced to file a complaint against Hassan MP (who is accused of Sexual abuse & kidnapping).

Further, the women have also requested protection for their families. Alleging, they have been receiving threats through multiple calls.

Later, the NCW recounted the incident involving three girls and stated, “One woman had approached the NCW to file a complaint against three people who were dressed in civilian clothes, and she claimed that they had introduced themselves as Karnataka police. She also complained that she received many calls from unknown numbers asking her to file a complaint against the accused. It has come to the light that the woman was forced by a group of individuals to the complaint under harassment charges.”

Also, the NCW has debunked reports related to complaints from 700 women. Taking to X, the women commission revealed “NCW would like to state that 700 women have not made any complaints to NCW regarding the Prajwal Revanna case. Some media channels are falsely reporting this.”

This significant development coincides with a time when Pranjal Revanna had already fled the country. However, his father, JDS MLA HD Revanna, has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse and kidnapping.

HD’S Kumaraswamy’s Reaction

Meanwhile, the JDS patriarch and uncle of Prajwal Revanna, HD Kumaraswamy, alleged the Congress’s involvement in the SIT probe and demanded a fair and objective investigation into the matter.
Later, he also met Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and submitted his memorandum on the same.
He further accused the Congress of the misuse of power and questioned the presence of the alleged 2900 victims.
“The Congress is saying that there are 2900 victims but where are they? The government is just missing its powers.”- said HD Kumaraswamy

What Had Happened in the Case So far

Prajwal Revanna was recently booked for alleged sexual harassment case on April 28, as per his former housekeeper’s complaint.
As a result, the Karnataka government had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the matter.
Later, the national commission of Women strongly condemned the fled accused and had earlier taken Suo-motu cognisance.
However, it had asked Karnataka Director General of Police to submit detailed report within 3 days.
