Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday launched the AP Police Seva
App to bridge the gap between police and public, and drive out the fear or stigma associated with visiting police stations. The motive of the app is to enhance and further take the 87 services provided by the AP Police department to the doorstep of the people by incorporating state of the art technology.

“The notion of citizen-friendly Police will only be realised when the public starts seeing the Police as a service than a force. This app with 12 modules on women safety, 15 modules on cyber safety, 6 modules on road safety besides numerous other services is a step in the right direction to achieve the same” CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said during the launch.

“This app will also substantially minimize the need to approach police stations physically” he added.
The app will enable the public to register complaints, check FIR status and E-challans, file applications for passports, licences and no-objection certificates. Further, it will also aid people during road accidents by alerting the nearest police station, providing information about and directions to the
nearest hospitals, blood banks and pharmacies. In addition, the app will also periodically update information about missing persons and unidentified dead bodies.

The launch of this app designed in-house is a landmark occasion for the AP Police department. The department has been constantly incorporating technology and innovation in enhancing the efficiency of the services provided and the 37 awards received by the department at the national level is a testimony regarding the same.” the DGP said. This app with special emphasis on women safety, like the Disha App, is in line with the government’s priorities and will further positively transform the system in terms of transparency and accountability, he added.
