Yemen Strikes Missile To Central Israel, No Injuries In Close Call

A surface-to-surface missile fired from Yemen struck central Israel on Sunday, hitting an unpopulated area and causing no injuries, according to the Israeli military. Air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and across central Israel around 6:35 a.m. local time, prompting residents to seek shelter.

The missile landed in an open field, with loud booms heard as interceptors were launched. Smoke was seen rising from the area, though it remains unclear whether it was caused by the missile or debris from the interceptors.

The Israeli military confirmed that no casualties were reported and that its defense guidelines remain unchanged.

This incident follows a July attack in which Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis launched a drone at Tel Aviv, killing one person and injuring four others. That attack led to Israeli airstrikes on Houthi military targets near Yemen’s Hodeidah port, which resulted in several casualties.

Additionally, on Sunday, 40 projectiles were launched towards Israel from Lebanon. They were either intercepted or landed in open areas, and no injuries were reported.
