A mother recently put up for sale three Taylor Swift concert tickets, initially purchased for her daughter’s 13th birthday, due to the singer’s endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. The woman shared her disappointment in a viral video, stating that Swift’s political stance and “non-Christian beliefs” led her to sever ties with the popstar.
The tickets were for the Toronto stop of Swift’s Eras tour, and the woman emphasized her change of heart after Swift’s public support for Kamala Harris. In her video, she expressed frustration, stating, “My tickets are now up for sale because I don’t want to spend another dollar supporting you and your private planes and your non-Christian beliefs.”
The woman also claimed that Swift’s endorsement was pre-planned ahead of the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. She said, “It’s obvious this was all premeditated. Your statement was released too quickly, showing that you didn’t have an open mind.”
Economic Criticism
In addition to her disapproval of Swift’s politics, the woman voiced concerns over the economy, arguing that Swift, being a billionaire, is out of touch with the everyday struggles of Americans. She said, “Taylor, you are a billionaire. People like us are struggling to make ends meet. If Harris wins, our economy will suffer, but I know it won’t affect you.”
Support for Donald Trump
The woman ended her video by expressing her support for former President Donald Trump, saying, “Donald Trump is the right guy for the job. If the economy fails, so will your concerts, Taylor, because no one will afford them.”
Although she had purchased the tickets to celebrate her daughter’s long-time admiration for Swift, the singer’s recent endorsement of Harris prompted the woman to put the tickets up for sale.
Swift’s Endorsement
In her Instagram post, Swift announced her support for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, writing, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
