Watch: Typhoon Yagi Spurs Viral Acts Of Kindness, As Cars Protect Bikers From Yagi

Typhoon Yagi, Asia’s most powerful storm this year, was downgraded to a tropical depression after causing significant damage in northern Vietnam over the weekend. Striking on Saturday, the storm devastated the country’s industrial hubs, damaging factories and infrastructure. Although the storm has weakened, authorities continue to warn of potential flooding and landslides as Yagi moves westward.

Amid the destruction, a heartwarming moment has gone viral, highlighting the resilience and unity of the Vietnamese people. A video posted on Instagram by Tubudd.com, a digital platform connecting travelers with local guides, has garnered 300 lakh views. The video shows a biker struggling against the storm’s fierce winds, only to be shielded by nearby cars that formed a protective barrier. In another clip, a group of motorcyclists is seen being carefully guided by cars moving at a steady pace, ensuring their safety during the storm.

Tubudd.com captioned the video, saying, “Typhoon Yagi has brought its challenges in Vietnam, but what stands out is the incredible unity and resilience of our people. No matter the struggle, we always decide to come together—lending a hand, sharing a moment. These acts of kindness show the true strength of our community.”

The touching display of solidarity resonated with viewers. One user, Nia Tran, commented, “It’s amazing how people come together in times of crisis.” Another, Binh Vu, added, “This is the real Vietnam—kindness and strength in the face of adversity.”

While the video highlights the human spirit, the toll of Typhoon Yagi has been severe. According to BBC, at least 59 people have lost their lives, mostly due to landslides triggered by the storm. Hundreds more have been injured, and the destruction of vital infrastructure in northern Vietnam remains extensive.
