North Korea’s Elite Soldiers Prove Relentless On Ukraine’s Frontlines In Russia’s War

North Korean soldiers have exhibited great discipline and courage in Ukraine where they have been deployed secretly by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the ongoing war. In November, North Korea sent 11,000 disguised soldiers as Russian troops to the city of Kursk within the conflict zone in an unprecedented military deployment. This was the first time North Korea had ever sent such a high number of troops to another country’s war.

The soldiers, who are mostly special operations forces from the 11th Corps, are trained in infiltration, sabotage, and assassinations, thus being very skilled in battle. Though their tactics are outdated, North Korean forces have been found to be very relentless and fearless, charging into battle even when fired at heavily. Ukrainian and South Korean intelligence services have commented that these troops are well-trained and highly motivated, with some describing them as fast, nimble, and excellent marksmen.

Experts say North Korean soldiers are being trained in the art of modern warfare. This country has one of the world’s biggest standing armies and is famous for its martial culture, where strength and discipline are part of their lives. While North Korea’s brutal human wave tactics have indeed inflicted severe casualties, they have also played a critical role in complicating things for Ukrainian forces, especially in the Kursk region.

Ukrainian forces have been facing extreme challenges in maintaining positions as North Korean troops overran them, and intelligence indicates that more forces and military equipment may soon be deployed to the region. Pyongyang denies sending troops to Russia, but there is increasing evidence of North Korea’s involvement in the conflict, which adds to the complexities of the ongoing war.
