Lebanon Bans Pagers And Walkie-Talkies On Flights From BEY

Effective immediately, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Lebanon has implemented a new regulation affecting all passengers departing from Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY). Under the new directive, the use and transport of pagers and walkie-talkies are strictly prohibited on flights.

Scope of the Ban

The ban applies to all forms of these devices, whether they are carried in checked luggage, hand baggage, or included in cargo. This measure will remain in effect until further notice, ensuring that no such devices are brought on board flights departing from BEY.

Reason Behind the Ban

This decision comes as part of heightened security measures, likely aimed at addressing specific safety concerns or threats related to electronic communication devices. The ban aligns with international aviation security protocols and reflects the airport’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of passenger safety.

Impact on Travelers

Passengers are advised to ensure that pagers and walkie-talkies are not included in their baggage or personal items when traveling from Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. The restriction will affect all airlines operating from the airport, including Qatar Airways and others.

Travelers should stay updated on further announcements from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and check with their airline for any additional guidelines or changes to the security procedures.
