Indian travel content creator Komal Maheswari recently shared a distressing experience from her visit to Kazakhstan. She was scammed by a local taxi driver who initially quoted 1,000 Tenge (about Rs. 170) for a ride but later demanded 77,000 Tenge (approximately Rs. 13,000).
In her video, Maheswari recounts arriving at Kazakhstan airport late at night with no local SIM card to book a cab online. She was approached by a taxi driver who, despite some red flags like another person in the car and a child lock, seemed trustworthy.
