Four people have lost their lives following a shooting in a bustling nightlife area of Birmingham, Alabama, as reported by local authorities. The incident occurred on 20th Street near Magnolia Avenue in the Five Points South neighborhood, a popular spot filled with entertainment venues, restaurants, and bars.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find two men and a woman deceased. A fourth victim succumbed to injuries at a hospital, as reported by WBMA-TV. Additional victims were taken to hospitals by private vehicles, according to police.
The Birmingham Police Department has not yet provided further details, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Birmingham Officer Truman Fitzgerald emphasized the department’s commitment to finding those responsible, stating, “We will do everything we possibly can to make sure we uncover, identify and hunt down whoever is responsible for preying on our people this morning.” The Five Points South area is typically crowded on Saturday nights, raising concerns about public safety in the community.
