The Meteorological Department on Sunday forecasted no significant weather activity across Jammu and Kashmir until the end of July, with hot and humid conditions expected to prevail until July 26.

An official from the department indicated that from July 21 to 26, the weather is expected to be mainly clear to partly cloudy, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers occurring at isolated to scattered places in the Kashmir division and scattered to fairly widespread places in the Jammu division.

The forecast for July 27 to 31 suggests partly to generally cloudy skies with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places across Jammu and Kashmir.

The official also warned of intense showers for brief periods, with the possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in some vulnerable areas of the Jammu division.

“Hot and humid weather will continue to prevail across J&K until July 26,” the official added.
