Functionaries of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have stated that things are operating smoothly between the organization and the BJP, and there is no reason why coordination should not function efficiently between the two bodies. Sources said that functionaries and leaders from the two organizations are likely to meet at the end of August in Kerala for a three days coordination meeting.

RSS sources told the Daily Guardian that baseless speculation were being discussed regarding a ‘fictional’ rift between the RSS and the BJP. This had started after articles and op eds in certain sections of media had appeared which are seen as pro-RSS voices.

RSS functionaries told the newspaper that these articles and op-eds were the personal opinion of the writers and did not represent the views of the body that predates the BJP. RSS sources further said that the recent speech of its chief Mohan Bhagwat too was being wrongly used and quoted to further the same false narrative.

According to them, Bhagwat, in all his speeches speaks about the ‘right, ethical and the righteous’ way that an individual should follow in his life and his recent Nagpur speech too should be read in that context rather than associating it with the 2024 general election results.

The functionaries said that the political opponents of the BJP, while focusing on the fact that its seats was reduced in this election compared to 2019, are not talking about how despite all the 26 different political parties comprising the I.N.D.I.A coming together, the bloc could not cross BJP’s own tally of 240 seats which they call it as testament of the support that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP enjoys from the people. The vote share of the BJP too did not decrease by even one point in this election despite the party facing off against an alliance of over two dozen parties.

The Modi government, despite facing two terms of anti-incumbency that is a natural phenomena which comes to be associated with the ruling party, the massive negative impact of the covid 19 across sectors and allegations of interference by foreign bodies, came back to power for the record third time, which the functionaries said was due to the personal popularity of Prime Minister Modi, result of the good governance and pro-poor polices that have been executed in the last ten years and ‘nation-first’ philosophy that the government has been following without any fear.

According to the functionaries, the suggestions made by the RSS in the past or currently, aimed at enhancing governance and improving citizens’ lives, are duly considered by the government. They also refute claims that RSS workers were inactive on the ground during this election, dismissing such reports as false and motivated.

RSS functionaries emphasized that the organization has significantly expanded its outreach, attracting unprecedented numbers of new members committed to enhancing societal welfare in these ten years which further shows how the work done by the Modi government is making a positive impact across the country and the world.
