The final post-mortem report of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has found no foul play in his death and ruled it a suicide. The report, analysed by a team of five doctors, has concluded that Sushant died by “asphyxia due to hanging”. After his death on 14 June, many rumours and theories alleging foul play in his death surfaced and now the Mumbai Police has given a rest to all those rumours.

The viscera report is still awaited and Mumbai Police has written to the Maharashtra forensics department, requesting to expedite the process on a priority basis. “The final post-mortem report has been received by us and the cause of death is cited as asphyxia due to hanging, which means it’s suicide and there is nothing suspicious found. The provisional PM report was signed by three doctors while the final PM report has been signed by five doctors after detailed analysis,” says DCP Abhishek Trimukhe of DCP Zone 9 who is investigating the case.

On the “conspiracy theories” around his building’s CCTV not working and every other angle that was brought up, he said, “I want to clear that all CCTVs were functioning properly and nothing suspicious was found by investigations done till now. Yet our investigation is still underway.”

Meanwhile some of the websites that have reported few stories with theories on Sushant’s death could be summoned for questioning on their sources regarding the stories published on their portals. On Wednesday Rajput’s Chartered Accountant Sanjay Shridhar was called for his statement. Till now 23 statements have been recorded by not only his family members, but also his legal advisors, friends, business manager, cleaner, cook, PR manager and others.

Looking at possible professional rivalry angle, Mumbai Police asked for the Yash raj Films’ contract details of Sushant which was accessed by police and have got to know that he signed the contract with YRF in 2012. Police are also trying to know more about Sushant’s films and dealings from his business manager.
