Union Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah launched a fierce attack on the Congress and National Conference (NC) for their election manifesto on Saturday, accusing them of wanting to reinstate the old system in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and initiate talks with Pakistan. Shah emphatically stated that dialogue with Pakistan will only occur if peace is established in the region.

While addressing a huge rally in Jammu, Shah criticized the Congress-NC alliance, accusing them of aiming to spread terrorism, remove reservations for Gujjars, Bakarwals, Paharis, and Dalits, release criminals, and restart Line of Control (LoC) trade with Pakistan. He declared that the abrogation of Article 370 empowered women and secured reservations for marginalized communities, which he vowed the BJP would protect.

Amit Shah highlighted the BJP’s stance on security, claiming that Congress and NC sought to return to a two-flag system and push for Jammu and Kashmir’s autonomy, which he described as fooling the people. “Three families—Gandhi, Abdullah, and Mufti—want J&K to revert to an era of inequality and terrorism. BJP will not let that happen,” Shah remarked.

He further asserted that only Prime Minister Modi’s government could restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, dismissing Congress-NC promises as misleading. “We have made it clear that after elections, statehood will be restored. Congress and NC are only confusing the public,” he said.

Praising the BJP’s achievements, Shah highlighted a 70% reduction in terrorism under the Modi government, successful conduct of the Amarnath Yatra, and the region’s improving security situation. He called on BJP workers to launch a strong door-to-door campaign, ensuring a decisive BJP victory in the upcoming elections.

Shah exuded confidence in the party’s strength, conveyed booth workers to engage directly with voters. “The upcoming elections will be historic—J&K will vote under the Indian Constitution and the tricolor. Let’s ensure a BJP victory,” he concluded.
