Already reeling under trouble due to the pandemic and workers testing positive for Covid-19, the Venkateshwara Temple in Tirumala will observe a low-key Brahmotsavam this year. The temple trust, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), has decided that the annual Brahmotsavams will be held in “ekantham”, which means alone, within the premises of the temple, instead of on the Tirumala streets with huge processions.

The Brahmotsavams are scheduled to be held from 19-28 September this year. The nine-day festival is usually attended by lakhs of devotees and celebrated with grand cultural activities.
