Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar emphasized that his decision to join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was not compelled or a compromise, asserting that his vision of development aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s.

In an open discussion with ANI, Ajit Pawar reflected on his journey leading up to his alignment with the ruling NDA in Maharashtra, including his earlier move to form a rival NCP faction and subsequent entry into the NDA as the deputy chief minister. He stated, “There was no compulsion and neither was it compromise. I always think about development. Who is driving the country’s development today? It is PM Modi.”

Highlighting the achievements under PM Modi’s leadership, Ajit Pawar pointed out the progress made in a short time compared to previous years. He commended PM Modi’s efforts towards the upliftment of the poor and backward sections, noting the absence of allegations against him.

Ajit Pawar underscored the absence of a viable prime ministerial face in the opposition bloc, emphasizing the overwhelming support for PM Modi among the populace. He stated, “More than 65 per cent of people in the country are saying that they want PM Modi to return for a third term.”

Regarding his faction’s decision to join the NDA, Ajit Pawar reiterated that it was driven by the collective aim of advancing Maharashtra’s development agenda. He emphasized that the move was not motivated by ministerial positions but by the commitment to state development.

Asserting PM Modi’s popularity and the people’s readiness to support him for a third term, Ajit Pawar highlighted the warm reception PM Modi receives during his campaign rallies, indicating widespread public endorsement for his vision and agenda.

Looking ahead to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar expressed confidence in the BJP-led NDA’s prospects, particularly in the third phase of polling on May 7, covering 11 Lok Sabha seats.
