In a tragic turn of events, nine individuals lost their lives in Bihar due to lightning strikes within the past 24 hours. Officials confirmed the incidents across six districts of the state, highlighting the vulnerability to such natural calamities.

According to reports from the Chief Minister’s Office, Jehanabad district recorded the highest casualties with three deaths, followed by two in Madhepura. Additionally, one fatality each was reported from East Champaran, Rohtas, Saran, and Supaul districts.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar promptly announced financial assistance. Each bereaved family will receive Rs 4 lakh as ex-gratia to support them during this difficult time.
