The National Investigation Agency on Thursday put a cash reward on the fugitive “Global Terrorist” Dawood Ibrahim and four of his close associates. The central anti-terrorism agency has declared a cash reward of Rs. 25 lakh on Dawood, followed by Rs 20 lakh on Shakeel Shaikh alias Chhota Shakeel and Rs. 15 lakh each on Javed Patel alias Javed Chikhna, Ibrahim Mushtaq Abdul Razzaq Memon alias Tiger Memon and Haji Anees alias Anees Ibrahim Shaikh.

A press note released by NIA said that Dawood Ibrahim, who has been

designated as a “Global Terrorist” under the United Nations Security Resolution 1267 and also listed under the Fourth Schedule of the UAPA Act, 1967 runs an international terrorist network called D-Company with his close associates, namely, Shakeel Shaikh alias Chhota Shakeel, Javed Patel alias Javed Chikhna, Ibrahim Mushtaq Abdul Razzaq Memon alias Tiger Memon and Haji Anees alias Anees Ibrahim Shaikh.

The press note further stated, “They are involved in various terrorism/criminal activities such as arms smuggling, narco terrorism, underworld criminal syndicate, money laundering, circulation of FICN, unauthorized possession/acquisition of key assets for raising terror funds and is working in active collaboration with the international terrorist organization including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Al Qaeda (AQ).”

NIA has declared the cash rewards for passing on any kind of information pertaining to the “absconding accused leading to their arrest”. The information can be shared on the e-mail addresses do.nia@gov.in and info.mum.nia@gov.in. The identity of the informant will be protected by the agency.

Earlier on August 5, NIA had arrested Mohd Salim Iqbal Qureshi alias Salim Fruit, brother-in-law of Dawood’s close aide Chhota Shakeel for allegedly raising terror funds through extortion and high stakes property deals.
