Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Director (Finance) at NHPC, has taken on the additional responsibility of Chairman and Managing Director at NHPC Limited, India’s prominent hydropower company, effective March 1, 2024. Goyal, who began his career with NHPC as a Finance professional in November 1988, has demonstrated consistent progress, embodying a strong commitment to responsibility and ethics.

A member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Goyal holds a Master of Commerce degree from Rajasthan University, Jaipur, and boasts over 35 years of extensive experience in diverse finance areas within NHPC.

With profound insights into financial, contractual, and regulatory aspects of hydropower projects, Goyal currently serves as the Chairman of NHPC’s subsidiaries, including Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Limited (LTHPL), Jal Power Corporation Limited (JPCL), Bundelkhand Solar Energy Limited (BSUL), and NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL). Additionally, he chairs NHDC Limited, Chenab Valley Power Projects Pvt. Ltd. (CVPPPL), Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (RHPCL), and Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Limited (LDHCL).

Goyal is also a member of the Executive Board of the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), New Delhi.
