Who is Manav Suthar? Meet Rajasthan’s young spinner, Gujarat Titans pick, and India A star with a 5-wicket haul vs Australia A.
Manav Suthar is fast emerging as one of India's most discussed young spinners in Indian cricket. Born on August 3, 2002, in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, he is part of the new crop of Indian cricketers who rose from humble backgrounds to make an impression on the national map.
Manav was born in a middle-class family with deep values and conducive surroundings where his cricketing aspiration grew and flourished.
Despite financial constraints, Manav’s father initially paid for his academy fees. When sustaining the expenses became difficult, his coach stepped in and covered the costs, ensuring Manav’s training was not interrupted.
Manav began his cricketing career as a young boy in the district cricket association academy at 12 years of age. He worked his way up through the age-group cricket there, becoming notable for his left-arm orthodox spinner and his talent to get sharp turn on Indian pitches.
He debuted for Rajasthan in first-class cricket on February 17, 2022, and soon became an integral part of their bowling unit. His consistency and wicket-taking skills in the Ranji Trophy earned him recognition.
Manav Suthar's net worth stands at an estimated ₹30–35 lakh. This comprises revenues from domestic cricket, his IPL deal with Gujarat Titans, and endorsements from various other cricket-related brands. At such a young age, he is consistently growing his cricket as well as financial profile.
Manav's home success saw him earn a spot in India A for the 2023 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, where he made an impressive impact with his control and capacity to produce breakthroughs in the middle overs.
Seeing his potential, Gujarat Titans bagged Manav in the Indian Premier League, exposing him to elite cricket and a chance to share the dressing room with some of the world's best players.
Manav Suthar's turning point arrived during the 2nd unofficial Test between India A and Australia A at Lucknow (September 2025). Bowling with guile and discipline, he chopped through Australia A's lower and middle order, taking 5 wickets for 107 runs in 32 overs, exposing his capacity to bowl long spells and trouble quality batsmen.
Important Wickets Tumbled
This five-wicket strike limited Australia A to 420 all out and kept them from scoring an even larger first-innings total.
At 23, Manav Suthar has already demonstrated the temperament to play higher orders of cricket. His India A show against Australia A is bound to propel him further into the selectors' consideration for senior team matches. With regular domestic performances and IPL experience, he may quickly become a familiar sight in India's spin unit.
