At approximately 4,410 kgs, CMS-03 is the largest Indian satellite developed for GTO missions. This satellite will be launched via LVM3, ISRO's largest rocket, used to date for missions like Chandrayaan-3 and OneWeb's deployment of satellites. It will signify ISRO's capabilities in designing and deploying heavy lift payloads needed by modern communication and defense infrastructure.

Strengthening India's Maritime Communication

The main goal of CMS-03 is to provide multi-band communication services over the Indian subcontinent and a large part of the Indian Ocean Region. The satellite will enable the Indian Navy to establish high-bandwidth, secure data links in voice, video, and data communications. It will ensure continuous coordination among ships, submarines, and aircraft in critical operations.

How is the Launch Vehicle with LVM3

The LVM3-M5 mission represents the fifth operational flight of ISRO’s most capable launcher known for its reliability, the LVM3 can carry payloads exceeding 4 tonnes to GTO. Engineers have completed final checks and the vehicle has been moved to the launch pad for final preparations.
