Taking to her X, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has issued a response to Donald Trump, saying "five planes were shot down" during the India-Pakistan war. The statement made by Trump, which is doing its rounds on social media, was part of a speech about America's role in stopping wars.
In her response, the MP asked about the trade deal that the US President mentioned in his speech. "If Donald Trump keeps repeating the trade deal got India Pakistan to agree to a ceasefire then how is it that India-US don’t have a trade deal yet?" she said.
She also had choice words for Pakistan, passing comments on their current state and their involvement in the terror attack. She wrote, "Since even America knows there’s no trade deal with Pakistan there’s only a terror deal because that’s the only thing Pakistan excels in."
In his speech, Trump said, "We stopped a lot of wars. And these were serious, India and Pakistan, that was going on. Planes were being shot out of there. I think five jets were shot down, actually." "These are two serious nuclear countries, and they were hitting each other," he continued. He also spoke on the risks associated with two nuclear countries going to war.
The statement made by Donald Trump has prompted officials to denounce the claims of 5 Indian aeroplanes being shot down in the India-Pakistan war.
