According to the Hindu Panchang, Raksha Bandhan falls on the full moon (Purnima) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan.
This year, the Purnima tithi begins at 2:12 PM on August 8 (Friday) and ends at 1:24 PM on August 9 (Saturday). Following the Udaya Tithi, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 9, 2025.
Sisters can bind rakhi on August 9 from 5:47 AM to 1:24 PM during the Shubh Muhurat. This allows for a 7-hour, 37-minute timeframe for the ceremony.
