Haryana has once again proven itself a cradle of exceptional talent in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2024, with the initial reports suggesting that total 20 aspirants including 7 women securing remarkable ranks and etching their names in the annals of success.
Hailing from the tranquil villages like Paju Khurd and Mahendragarh to the bustling cities of Panchkula and Bahadurgarh, these candidates have showcased unparalleled determination, resilience and brilliance. Leading the charge are Haryana’s top rankers, whose journeys from humble beginnings to national acclaim inspire a generation.
Harshita Goyal, born in Haryana and now residing in Vadodara, Gujarat, has made Haryana proud by securing the second All India Rank (AIR) in UPSC CSE 2024. A Chartered Accountant and B.Com graduate from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Harshita chose Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject, excelling in one of the toughest competitive exams in the country. Her work with Ahmedabad’s Belief Foundation, supporting children with thalassemia and cancer, reflects her commitment to social good.
Aditya Vikram Agrawal from Bahadurgarh, clinched the 9th rank in his fifth attempt, a testament to his perseverance. He described his journey as one of struggle and growth, crediting meditation and family support for overcoming setbacks in previous interviews.
Shivani Panchal, a native of Panipat and an HCS officer under training in Jhajjar, achieved a historic 53rd rank, embodying discipline and dedication. Aakash Goyal from Janta Bazaar, Jind, secured the 117th rank, carrying forward the legacy of his ancestral village, Kithana in Kaithal. His father, Satbir Goyal, a school principal and shopkeeper, beamed with pride at his son’s achievement. Abhilash Sundaram from Nehru Park, Bahadurgarh, secured the 129th rank in his sixth attempt, improving from his 421st rank in a previous year when he was selected for the Indian Police Service. The son of S. Shyam, director of Triveni Memorial Senior Secondary School, Abhilash’s relentless pursuit of his goal has inspired his community.
