A terrorist associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has been arrested in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh. According to DGP Prashant Kumar, Lazar Masih was planning a major attack (blast) during the Maha Kumbh and intended to flee to Portugal afterwards. Babbar Khalsa International had provided him with hand grenades.

The DGP stated that the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab Police conducted a raid at 3:30 AM on Thursday and arrested Lazar Masih. He is a resident of Kurliyana village in Amritsar district, Punjab. He worked for Swaran Singh, also known as Jeevan Fauji, the head of BKI’s Germany-based module, and was in direct contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.

During interrogation at Kokhraj police station, the STF recovered 3 hand grenades, 2 detonators, 1 foreign-made pistol, 13 live cartridges, an Aadhaar card with a Ghaziabad address, and a mobile phone without a SIM card. Senior STF officers are questioning him, and he has revealed names of terrorists operating from the US, Portugal and Qatar. His mobile phone has provided crucial intelligence.

According to the DGP, on December 23 last year, Punjab and Pilibhit Police had neutralized three terrorists linked to KZF in an encounter. These terrorists had earlier carried out a grenade attack on a police post in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district on December 19.
