Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 16 (ANI/PNN): A new state-of-the-art Thermo Fisher Scientific manufacturing facility in Bengaluru will produce testing kits and diagnostic solutions that are made in India for use in India.
CoviPathCOVID-19 RT-PCR Kit, which contains the assays and controls for Thermo Fisher’s gold standard RT-PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2 in individuals suspected of COVID-19.
The CoviPathCOVID-19 RT-PCR Kit has been approved under MDR 2017 rules for in vitro diagnostic use by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) and Drug Control General of India(DCGI)
in all authorized laboratories. Testing with the kit can be done on Applied Biosystems real-time PCR instruments with FAM dye, VIC dye, and JUN dye or any RT-PCR platform with 3 dye channels in molecular biology laboratories approved for testing. Samples are collected from the nasopharyngeal swab, nasopharyngeal aspirate and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) specimens.

The introduction of this kit and the new facility strengthens our commitment towards the COVID-19 response in India. The new facility is equipped with the capacity to manufacture up to 10 million tests every month. This facility will be instrumental in ensuring access to affordable testing kits while maintaining global quality standards,” said Amit Chopra, managing director, India and South Asia, Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The CoviPath COVID-19 RT-PCR Kit is designed to detect viral targets with low mutations and offers more than 99.5% sensitivity and 99.5% specificity. The kit is packaged in a user-friendly and convenient pack size of 200 reactions. The company will make these kits available across the country leveraging its strong distribution network.

Also for Mrs India Universal, 2021, Rashmi Rathi came out as the winner with Pooja Bhosekar and Usha Thalathoti as the 1st and 2nd runner ups respectively.
The male designer in this function was Pankaj Soni and the female designer was Batul Ali, and the event was supported by Associate Director Omdeep Kavita Motiyani.
The efforts that Sharad and his team put in are commendable. We need more such production houses in the coming years to participate in India’s growth by providing suitable platforms catering to every young talent in India.

Wipro to acquire tech consultancy Capco for $1.45 billion
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], March 4 (ANI): IT software major Wipro Ltd said on Thursday it has signed an agreement to acquire Capco, a global management and technology consultancy providing digital, consulting and technology services to financial institutions in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.
The acquisition will make Wipro one of the largest end-to-end global consulting, technology and transformation service providers to the banking and financial services industry.
London-headquartered Capco’s clients include many marquee names in the global financial services industry. Over the past 20 years, the company has worked closely with business leaders including boards and C-suites in banking, capital markets, wealth, asset management and insurance sectors.

Reliance Power, JERA achieve financial closure for project in Bangladesh
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 4 (ANI): Reliance Power and JERA Co Inc, which are developing a new gas-fired power generation project in Bangladesh, have achieved financial closure with a group of lenders that includes Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Asian Development Bank.
All requisite conditions for availing drawdown under the loan agreements have been satisfied, the Anil Ambani-controlled company said in a statement on Thursday.
The project is to build, own and operate a 745 megawatt natural gas combined-cycle power project at Meghnaghat in Narayanganj, about 40 km southeast of Dhaka.
Reliance Power’s wholly-owned subsidiary Samalkot Power Ltd has received the approval from Export Import Bank of the United States to sell one module of equipment to Samsung C&T Corporation of South Korea, which is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for project for Rs 1,540 crore.
The notice to proceed has been issued by project company to Samsung C&T, which in turn has issued the notice to proceed to Samalkot Power for supply of equipment.
Samalkot Power will supply one module of world-class equipment procured from internationally reputed original equipment manufacturers to the phase one project in Bangladesh.
Reliance Power’s networth is Rs 12,063 crore and debt to equity ratio is 2.24:1, which is among the lowest in industry. The company said it will achieve a total debt reduction of up to Rs 3,000 crore by March.
Reliance Power, a part of the Reliance Group, is a leading private sector power generation and coal resources company. It has one of the largest portfolios of power projects in private sector based on coal, gas and renewable energy with an operating portfolio of 5,945 megawatts. (ANI)

Vansh Gupta philanthropic nature makes him people’s favourite
New Delhi [India], March 4 (ANI/ThePRTree): Vansh Gupta is an entrepreneur, visualiser, and philanthropist who has always proved that NGOs should be directed at serving people and not just accumulating money for their personal vendetta. His foundation, Unnati India works towards the betterment of underprivileged children.
And during the troublesome lockdown period, they widened their capacities to help underprivileged people as well the other needy sections of the society. And till today, they have been undertaking these activities of helping the ones in distress.
He also actively participates in his family business and Unnati India being his dream project has gotten all help and support from his family and peers. Forming this was not as difficult as it may sound, because Vansh was always determined and focused to set up something which could help the societal progress.
His motivation rose when he saw little children selling items on roads and begging for food. This hit him hard and that’s when he decided to do something for children who are less fortunate.
