Breakthrough watchmaking is the foundation of OMEGA’s heritage but it is inspired by sports timekeeping, events that involve exploring of space, aiding worthy organisations and the desirable (and iconic) role in support of the world’s favourite spy. A variety of Omegas have been sported by Daniel Craig across his bond franchise.

OMEGA timepieces for 2021, give a special glimpse at just some of the exclusive designs, materials, and upgrades you can expect to see in the year ahead. The collection tells the story of Omega’s rich heritage, yet updated through the lens of modern innovation and pioneering technology. Omega’s watchmakers continue to pursue the benchmarks of excellence to give customers the most exquisite timepieces possible.

This year, the Novelties were presented at The Oberoi, New Delhi on 2nd December 2021. Featured in this article are a few of the many stellar pieces. Omega is represented by Genesis-BCW as their public relations firm.

CONSTELLATION

The dramatic and enduring design of the OMEGA Constellation is characterised by its famous half-moons, “claws” on the case and mono-rang bracelet.

This 29 mm 18K Sedna™ gold model features a diamond-paved bezel, crystal white silvery dial with diamond hour markers and a date window at the 6 o’clock position.

The bracelet, hands, OMEGA logo, Constellation star and diamond holders are also in the 18K Sedna™ gold.

At the heart of this timepiece is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8701, visible through the domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

THE SPEEDMASTER SILVER SNOOPY

In 1970, OMEGA received the prestigious “Silver Snoopy Award” from the astronauts at NASA. The prize recognised OMEGA’s unique contributions to space exploration, as well as the Speed master’s role in saving Apollo 13. Now, 50 years later, a special timepiece has been created in the occasion’s honour.

To really capture the iconic design history of the Speed master, OMEGA has included a 42 mm case in stainless steel, inspired by the chronograph’s legendary 4th generation style (famous for being the first watch worn on the moon).

On the caseback, Snoopy appears inside his Command and Service Module (CSM) on a magical hand. When the chronograph seconds hand is used, Snoopy takes a trip around the far side of the moon, which has been decorated on the sapphire crystal using a unique micro-structured metallisation. There is also an Earth disc, which rotates once per minute in sync with the watch’s small second’s hand.

For over half a century, Snoopy has acted as the “watchdog” for NASA’s safety programme. As well as representing total mission success, he can also keep things light in serious situations. Since 1968, the Silver Snoopy Award has been presented to people or companies who have contributed significantly to “the success of human space flight missions.”

SPEEDMASTER DARK SIDE OF THE MOON ALINGHI

OMEGA and ALINGHI are two Swiss brands with a passion for innovation and precision. As a special tribute to the ALINGHI boats that fly across the water, OMEGA has chosen the Speedmaster as the perfect watch to celebrate the partnership. This one-of-a-kind model displays some truly captivating details and is inspired by ALINGHI’s unique boat design.

Perhaps the most impressive feature is the watch’s decorated Calibre 1865, which has been revealed through a blackened skeletonised dial. The manual-winding movement is ideal for life at high speed due to its lighter and thinner design, while the superb detailing is reminiscent of ALINGHI’s sleek catamaran craftsmanship.
