Nepal: Kathmandu Hosts Global D-30 Summit Focused On De-Addiction

The summit addressed the urgent need for a world free of addiction and discussed disabilities stemming from substance abuse.

The Kashiyana Foundation recently organized the ‘Global D-30 Summit’ in Kathmandu, Nepal, focusing on de-addiction and disability. Held on Sunday, the second phase of the D-30 program saw representatives from 30 countries in attendance, including India’s Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava.

The summit addressed the urgent need for a world free of addiction and discussed disabilities stemming from substance abuse. Among the speakers was Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam, who shared images from the event on X, stating, “Addressed the Global Summit on de-addiction and disability organised by Kashyana Foundation today in Kathmandu, Nepal.”

According to organizers, the D-30 initiative aims to unite 30 nations most severely impacted by addiction on a common platform. The summit specifically targeted countries identified by the World Health Organization where addiction has become a critical issue. The first phase of D-30 took place in New Delhi in 2023, with representatives from 30 countries. During the event, young people, doctors, and social workers voiced their concerns and presented solutions for addiction rehabilitation across various sessions.
