In a heart wrenching incident another coaching student in coaching city Kota committed suicide by hanging himself. 19-year-old Sumit Panchal, a coaching student from Rohtak, Haryana, was preparing for medical examination from Allen Coaching while staying in Uttam Hostel in Landmark of Kunhadi police station area of the city. He committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room on Sunday night. The hostel where this student lived did not have anti hanging device. In this case, the police had kept the body in the mortuary of Kota MBS Hospital. Where on Monday, after the arrival of the relatives of the deceased, the post-mortem was conducted by the Medical Board and the body was handed over to the relatives.
He was preparing for NEET while staying in Kota and had to appear for his exam in 5th. This is the seventh suicide of the year. The family members of the deceased student have termed this suicide as murder and have demanded the administration to investigate the entire matter by SIT.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Soni said that 19-year-old student Sumit Kumar, son of Vijaypal, resident of Rohtak, Haryana, was living in Uttam Residency of Landmark area of Kota. He was living in Kota for the last one year and doing coaching. As soon as the information about his hanging was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The police also sealed the room where the student was staying.
He told that there are 12 rooms in the hostel, out of which 10 rooms do not have anti hanging device and two rooms do not have anti hanging device, Sumit was staying in one of them. In the case of non-availability of anti-hanging device, a report has been sought after investigation and action will also be taken against the hostel operator. Soni told that this incident happened around 10.30 pm on Sunday night and the student has committed suicide by hanging himself. The family members who reached Kota have expressed fear of Sumit being murdered and have demanded from the administration that the entire matter should be investigated impartially and SIT should be formed.
Sumit’s father Vijaypal says that he had talked to him 5 days ago and on Sunday morning till evening he called him several times to talk but the conversation could not take place. When he informed the hostel operator about something, he went into the room and came to know about the accident. Sumit had once given the NEET UG exam without any coaching and the second time he was giving the exam with coaching. He had no tension of any kind. Sumit’s grandfather Ramkumar Panchal says that he talked to the cook of Sumit’s hostel. He had informed about Sumit’s recovery and has demanded the medical board to constitute a post-mortem and special investigation team in this entire matter.
