After reports emerged of his injury, Neeraj Chopra, the javelin thrower and world championship gold medalist, recently refuted the injury claims on Sunday.

Stating, he isn’t injured, he voluntarily decided to withdraw from Ostrava Golden Spike competition, after feeling something in his adductor.

He further claimed that he did not want to face any potential injury in upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. As a result, he won’t participate in any competition until he’s fine.

Taking to Instagram, Neeraj Chopra issued clarification regarding his injury.

“Hello everyone! Following a recent throwing session, I decided not to compete in Ostrava as I felt something in my adductor. I have had problems with it in the past and pushing it at this stage can lead to injury. Just to clarify, I am not injured but I do not want to take any risk during the Olympic year so had to take this decision. Once I feel it’s fully recovered, I will get back to competitions. Thank you for your support.” announced Neeraj Chopra.
