Under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, a drug trafficker has been arrested, and 24.61 grams of heroin were seized from his possession in Chandigarh. The accused has been identified as Rajinder Mehra, also known as Mahindra, a resident of Budail Sector 45 village.
The police arrested the accused and recovered 24.61 grams of heroin from his possession. The accused is believed to have a history of criminal activities. Chandigarh police had arrested him in a previous case under the NDPS Act in 2019, and he was found in possession of heroin at that time. After being released on bail recently, he resumed drug trafficking.
The accused was presented before the court, and the police obtained custody for further investigation. Inspector Jaswinder Singh, in charge of the district’s crime cell, explained that the team arrested the accused based on suspicion near Budail Chowk in Sector 50-51, Chandigarh. A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Police Station 49, UT Chandigarh.
The accused, Rajinder Mehra, alias Mahindra, admitted to being involved in drug trafficking for the past two to three years. He had been selling heroin in the Tri-City area, which includes Punjab and Delhi, to earn substantial profits.
