Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), arrived at Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence in the nation’s capital on Friday.
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, will also be present at the NCP chief’s meeting, which will take place at Kharge’s home.

The Sharad Pawar group and the Ajit Pawar-led faction of the NCP are currently arguing their cases before the Election Commission of India on alleged infringements on the party’s name and symbol. In the midst of a conflict between the two factions, Ajit Pawar contacted the Election Commission earlier in July to stake claim to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the party emblem.

Later, the Election Commission acknowledged the split in a letter to both sections of the party and instructed Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar to exchange whatever documents they had given to the election body.
The matter before ECI is being heard for the first time today.

In response to a petition submitted by the Ajit Pawar faction, the Commission also issued a show-cause notice to the NCP faction led by Sharad Pawar in July. According to the petition, Ajit Pawar should be elected NCP president and given the party’s emblem in accordance with the 1968 Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order.
