In a major development, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday arrested Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda in connection with the ongoing ‘drug angle’ probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
This development comes minutes after Showik allegedly confessed that he had procured drugs on the instructions of his sister – actor Rhea Chakraborty.
Showik and Miranda’s arrest are in addition to the arrests of three others – Basit Parihar, Kaizan Ibraham and Zaid.
According to NCB sources, in the interrogation, both Showik and Samuel accepted taking drugs. Showik is learnt to have further revealed that Sushant was also used in taking drugs frequently.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday conducted searches at the premises of Showik Chakraborty, brother of main accused Rhea Chakraborty, and Samuel Miranda in connection with the drugs probe linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The NCB sleuths took both Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda for questioning to its office in Mumbai after conducting searches at their homes.
Reportedly, the NCB team seized a laptop and other digital equipment from their possession. Both of them have been issued notices by NCB under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and asked them to join the investigation.
The investigation by the NCB has revealed Showik’s direct connection with the drug peddlers. His involvement has come out after the interrogation of two drug peddlers including Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar.
In the interrogation, both the drug peddlers accepted knowing Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty personally. One of the drug peddlers – Abdel Basit Parihar was sent to NCB custody till September 9 by the Court. Basit was in constant touch with Showik and the latter used to pay money to the former through google pay.
