Former Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu turned to social media on Sunday, sharing a selfie of himself with Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira and describing the meeting as “aligning with positive forces.”

Sukhpal is a Punjab MLA from Bholath and the Chairman of the All India Kisan Congress. Sidhu captioned a photo of himself with Khaira, “Aligning with positive forces who fight righteously for Punjab and walk the path of truth. The fight is on against a corrupt system that is depleting Punjab’s resources and facilitating the age-old mafia,” Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted. Navjot Singh Sidhu also met Congress Party former president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the national capital on April 6 and stated his unwavering devotion to his leaders and the Punjab state.

“Today, I saw my mentor Rahul ji and friend, philosopher, and guide Priyanka ji in New Delhi. You can imprison me, harass me, and freeze all of my financial accounts, but my dedication to Punjab and my leaders will not budge an inch!!” Sidhu took to Twitter.

Sidhu saw Rahul Gandhi for the first time after being released on April 1 from Patiala Central Jail in Punjab after the Supreme Court sentenced him to one year in prison in a three-decade-old road rage case.
In last year of May, the Supreme Court sentenced Sidhu to one year in prison in the 1988 case of road rage in which he reportedly attacked one Gurnam Singh, who eventually died in hospital. Soon after leaving the jail, Sidhu declared that democracy is in chains and that there is a plot to impose President’s Rule in Punjab.
