Fresh digital evidence has emerged in the Ketan Agarwal murder probe, with police finding that accused Siya Goyal allegedly spoke to her lover and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary just 34 minutes before her fiancé was pushed off a cliff at Pune’s Lohagad Fort.

Sources said the call detail records, recovered during a forensic examination of the mobile phones of Goyal and Chaudhary, are being treated as crucial evidence by the Pune Rural Police. Investigators suspect the call may have served as the final go-ahead for the alleged murder plot.

Police believe Goyal used the call to share her exact location at a viewpoint inside the fort and confirm that no tourists were nearby. Investigators are also examining allegations that the accused deleted WhatsApp and Instagram chats, voice notes and other digital records from the past three months to conceal planning linked to the crime.

The cyber wing is now working with forensic experts to recover the deleted data. Police are cross-checking recovered chats, location logs, internet IP addresses and call records from the time of the final call to build a case of pre-planned murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.

According to police, Goyal pushed 25-year-old Ketan Agarwal off a cliff on June 18 because she did not want to proceed with their scheduled November wedding. Chaudhary has been named as a co-accused in the case.

Goyal’s brother has reportedly told police that she first met Chaudhary during his cricket matches and that the two grew closer after reconnecting through a common friend.

Investigators also suspect that the murder plan was finalised by the end of May. Sources said Goyal allegedly made an earlier attempt on June 14, but Agarwal survived after grabbing a bush. She later claimed she had accidentally pushed him after spotting a snake.

Police said Chaudhary allegedly followed the couple to the fort on June 18 to ensure Agarwal could not escape during the second attempt.
