Bhubaneshwar: The Election Commission has published Odisha’s draft electoral roll after the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision, with nearly 20.12 lakh names missing from the initial list.

According to the draft roll, Odisha now has 3,13,87,034 registered voters, down from 3,33,99,591 in the previous electoral roll. However, the Commission clarified that the missing names have not been permanently deleted.

The revision drive was carried out between May 30 and June 28, 2026, during which 93.97 per cent of registered voters submitted their enumeration forms. Only those who completed the required process within the deadline have been included in the draft roll.

The Election Commission said the missing names include voters who may have shifted registration to another state, died, could not be traced at their registered addresses, failed to submit enumeration forms on time, or no longer wished to remain registered. Duplicate entries have also been identified, and only one valid entry will be retained after verification.

Eligible voters whose names are absent from the draft roll can still seek inclusion during the claims and objections period, which will remain open until August 4, 2026. They can submit Form-6 with the required documents and declaration.

Voters can check their names by contacting their Booth Level Officer or through the ECINET mobile app, the Voters’ Portal, and the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha’s website.

The Commission said no voter’s name would be removed from the final roll without due legal process. If deletion is proposed, the voter will receive a notice and be given an opportunity to be heard. Appeals can be filed before the District Collector and subsequently the Chief Electoral Officer.

The revision exercise was conducted across all 30 districts of Odisha with the help of election officials, Booth Level Officers, supervisors, volunteers and Booth Level Agents of political parties.

The final electoral roll for Odisha is scheduled to be published on September 6, 2026, after all claims and objections are examined.
