Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi To Be The Next Chief Of The Army Staff

The Central Government appointed Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Vice Chief of the Army Staff as the next Chief of the Army Staff which will come into effect from the afternoon of June 30, 2024 according to an official press release by Ministry of Defence.

The current Chief of the Army Staff Gen Manoj C Pande demits office on the same date.

Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi was commissioned into the Infantry (Jammu & Kashmir Rifles) of the Indian Army on December 15, 1984.

Dwivedi has been decorated with Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and three GOC-in-C Commendation Cards.
