JDU MP Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh voiced his confidence in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), affirming that all leaders present at the meeting reiterated their support for Narendra Modi, advocating for his third term as Prime Minister. Singh highlighted the unity among constituent parties in endorsing Modi for his third tenure following the NDA’s triumph in the Lok Sabha elections.

Singh reiterated the unwavering backing for Modi, emphasizing solidarity with both the Prime Minister and the NDA. He outlined the forthcoming procedural measures, indicating that a meeting of the NDA parliamentary party would be convened promptly to elect its leader, paving the way for the government’s formation.

The NDA convened a landmark meeting on Wednesday, attended by Narendra Modi and top leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party, underlining the coalition’s solidarity. The NDA leaders reiterated their trust in Modi, selecting him as the alliance’s leader for the third consecutive term.

After the meeting, Modi affirmed the NDA’s commitment to national progress and regional aspirations, expressing determination to serve India’s vast population and cultivate a developed nation.

In a subsequent gathering to deliberate on the new government’s formation, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed his party’s allegiance to the NDA. The unanimous resolution passed during the meeting appointed Narendra Modi as the leader of the NDA, with prominent leaders across various parties in attendance.

The participation of leaders like Naidu and Nitish Kumar in the NDA meeting assumes significance, as their parties’ support is pivotal for the BJP to establish the government. Despite falling 32 seats short of the majority mark, as announced by the Election Commission of India, the BJP secured 240 seats, while the Congress won 99 seats. In parallel, President Droupadi Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha, as per the Union Cabinet’s recommendation, in compliance with constitutional provisions.
