The Finance and Contract Committee meeting of the Municipal Corporation, chaired by Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, was convened on Tuesday. The session delved into various matters, resulting in the passage of multiple resolutions, including an agenda with an estimated value of around Rs 15 crore. In attendance were Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sachin Gupta, SE Vijay Goyal, and Councilor Sunit Singla.
Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal informed that during the meeting, approval was granted for a proposal of Rs 69 lakh 32 thousand to construct a welcome gate near Suraj Cinema on the old Panchkula road from Kalka Shimla Highway.
Furthermore, a substantial sum of one crore 99 lakh rupees was sanctioned for the construction of a Badminton cum Multipurpose Hall in Community Center Sector 21, Ward No. 3.
Additionally, the committee approved the appointment of an agency for the operation and maintenance of the old age home in Sector 27, Panchkula.
Other allocations included Rs 1 crore 98 lakh 24 thousand for the construction of a community center building in village Chandikotla, Rs 1 crore 79 lakh 30 thousand for a badminton-cum-multipurpose hall in the community center in Ward 17, Sector 25, and Ward No. 18, Sector 26.
Further allotments comprised one crore 79 lakh 30 thousand rupees for constructing a badminton-cum-multipurpose hall in the community center of Toka, one crore 98 lakh 24 thousand rupees for building a community center in ward number 20, village Khangesara, and constructing a community center in ward number 20, village Toka
An equivalent sum of one crore 98 lakh 24 thousand rupees was earmarked for the construction of a building in village Sukhdarshan of ward number 20, and one crore 17 rupees for the construction of a community center building in village Naggal in ward number 20.
Proposals worth Rs 23 lakh were also given the nod. Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal highlighted that agendas exceeding Rs 100 crore have been approved in the Finance and Contract Committee meetings held between March 2023 and January 2024.
