Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Poonia administered the Voter’s Day oath to all officers and employees at the Mini Secretariat’s auditorium on the 14th National Voters’ Day-2024. Poonia urged youth aged 18 and above to exercise their voting rights.

Congratulating National Voters’ Day, Poonia highlighted that the Election Commission of India was formed on January 25, 1950, and India, as the largest democratic country, celebrates this day annually. The program’s main objective is to create awareness about voting rights and motivate eligible individuals to register in the voter list, following the Election Commission’s instructions.

Poonia emphasized the celebration of National Voters’ Day at the state, district, and booth levels, with the theme “There is nothing like vote, we will definitely vote.” He stressed the importance of exercising the right to vote and encouraged new voters to obtain their voter cards through the designated BLO. Poonia informed about the final publication of the voter list on January 22 and urged voters to check for any errors and rectify them with the BLO or District Election Officer’s office.

On National Voters’ Day, the Municipal Magistrate addressed officers and employees, emphasizing the oath to uphold democratic traditions, ensuring free, fair, and peaceful elections without being influenced by various factors. Election law officers Kuldeep Singh, Parveen Kumar, Amit Kumar, and officers from different departments were present on the occasion.
