Mumbai (Maharashtra) – Mumbai residents have been dealing with heavy rain for the second day in a row. The latest monsoon showers have caused severe waterlogging and disrupted traffic, affecting both public and private transportation across the city.

In the midst of this, an old video of the Gateway of India has gone viral on social media. The video shows powerful waves crashing against the iconic monument and the area around it completely submerged in water. Many people in the comments are praying for the safety of Mumbai residents and hoping for better conditions soon.

Mumbai is currently facing intense monsoon weather. This morning, the city saw a heavy downpour, with Mulund and Malabar Hills recording 34 mm of rain in just one hour. In the last 24 hours, there has been 135 mm of rainfall, causing widespread waterlogging and traffic jams.

To make matters worse, a high tide of 4.59 meters is expected around 1 p.m., which could increase flood risks.

In response, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has sent three teams to help with the situation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a yellow alert for the city, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall and the possibility of extremely heavy rain in some areas.
