Mumbai: 17-Year-Old Killed in Dahisar Hit-and-Run; Two Injured

Police are investigating the incident and searching for the driver.

A hit-and-run case occurred in the Dahisar area on Friday, where a speeding car collided with a bike, resulting in one death and two injuries. The deceased has been identified as Aditya Velankar (17), while the injured are Piyush Shukla and Karan Rajput (18).

The incident took place as the three friends were returning from Shailendra High School in Dahisar East. Piyush Shukla was riding a two-wheeler, with Aditya Velankar and Karan Rajput on another bike, when an unknown speeding car struck them.

According to police officials, Karan fell to his left after the car hit his bike, while Aditya fell to the right, suffering severe head injuries and bleeding from his ears and nose. Aditya was rushed to a nearby hospital by his friends, where doctors declared him dead.

The Dahisar police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the accident site to identify the car’s owner and have launched a search operation. An FIR has been registered under sections 106(1), 125(A), 125(B), 281, and the Motor Vehicle Act.

In a related incident on September 7, a speeding car hit two workers from the Mulund Cha Raja Ganpati Mandal early in the morning around 4 a.m., resulting in one death and another person being critically injured. This incident occurred on the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The Navghar police have registered a case and are actively searching for the driver.

“Two workers of Mulund Cha Raja Ganpati Mandal were hit by a speeding car, one died and one is in critical condition. The incident happened at 4:00 am. Police have registered a case and are searching for the car driver,” stated the Mumbai Police.
