The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday approved the new transfer policy of the School Education Department. As per the new policy, transfer applications of teachers will be taken online. Teachers would have to apply for transfer on the portal between 31 March and 15 May. It has been made mandatory for teachers to be posted in schools in rural areas. Moreover, teachers would no longer be able to be posted in the private staff of ministers, MLAs, and elected public representatives.

State Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, “Now, the teachers will have to be posted in a rural area school for at least three years and for the entire service period of ten years. Teachers, who have been in the cities for more than ten years will be sent to village schools. According to the policy approved by the cabinet on Tuesday, teachers will no longer be able to be posted as the private staff of ministers or elected public representatives. Teachers with three years remaining in service or with serious illness will get an exemption from transfer. Transfer of principal and senior teachers can be done both online and offline. “
