Despite the facing the stern action from the Haryana government, the senior officials and employees are being caught red-handed taking bribes leading to their suspensions. The list includes the HCS officials, police personnel along other employees working in several departments in the state. Apart from this, a string of the officials as well as the employees were found absent from the department after the concerned minister had conducted. If we look at the data and government record, what comes to surface is that more than a dozen cases of bribery involving a string of senior officials have been reported in the month of January in Haryana so far.

A Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner named Raja Ram Nain in Jhajjar was caught red handed taking a bribe of Rs 50000 for issuing a GST certificate. The state vigilance team conducted a raid and was arrested on the spot after the complaint was received. Taking into cognizance of the matter, the government has suspended him immediately. Likewise, Amrinder Singh, a senior official who was holding the charge of post of the SDM in Kaithal was arrested on January 18, 2022 for his involvement regarding taking bribes in an old case that emerged during his posting in Ambala as DTO. He was accused of issuing stickers to overloaded vehicles illegally which resulted in his suspension and arrest after the inquiry represented the whole scenario pertaining to the matter. Prior to this, a Block Development official (BDPO) was suspended by the Home Minister Anil Vij who was heading a public grievance meeting in Sirsa. Following a complaint, Vij found him irresponsible as he failed to provide data required in a case and the same led to a delay in the inquiry of the case.

In continuation to this, it is pertinent to mention that the scenario continues to worsen in the police department as the tall claims of transparency and better working of police personnel proved futile. It is evident from many cases of police officials taking bribes and a casual approach towards their job and duty reported this year. Three police officials namely Prem Kumar, Ramesh Kumar and Sudesh Kumar appointed as SHO, SI and ASI respectively in Shahabad were suspended by the Home Minister Anil Vij on January 5, 2022 after they were found irresponsible and delaying the inquiry in several matters. Prior to this, Jail Superintendent named Shamsher Singh deployed at Hisar Jail was suspended for his involvement in a bribery case. Apart from this, the Tehsil Offices across the state are in the center of the talk these days as the officials along with employees including Tehsildars, Nayab-Tehsildars and Patwaris are being reported taking bribes. Recently, a Nayab-Tehsildar named Amit Kumar deployed at Satnali was arrested as he was demanding a bribe of Rs 14000 in two cases
