In line with Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Maan’s commitment to providing convenient and transparent civic services to the state’s residents, the state government will complete the construction of an ultra-modern sub-registrar office in Mohali.
Chief Secretary Anurag Verma, who conducted a surprise visit, revealed that the new office aims to offer all property-related services on the same day under one roof. The property buyer will receive a copy of the registry within 90 minutes of completing the entire registration process.

During his visit, Chief Secretary Verma also interacted directly with people at various offices, including the Tehsil Office, Farad Center, and RTA offices, to gather feedback. He emphasized the Chief Minister’s directive to ensure government office employees face no problems, providing transparent and timely services to the public.

Following his visit to the newly constructed sub-registrar office, Chief Secretary Verma held a detailed meeting with officials from concerned departments and district administration. He emphasized that the modern facility aims to eliminate hassles for the public and save their time.

Highlighting the unique features of the new office, Verma explained that the entire registration process, from preparing the registry deed to purchasing stamp papers, EKYC for identification, and property transactions, will be completed within 90 minutes. The office will have different counters for deed writing, and an online counter for those who prefer to write the will themselves or from home.

Considering the 2 percent discount in stamp duty for women, the new office will have special seating arrangements for women. Basic facilities and a waiting area will be provided for the public, and individuals can visit the office at their appointed time slot by showing the appointment received on their mobile phones.

Special Chief Secretary cum Finance Commissioner Revenue KAP Sinha emphasized the need to deploy facilities and staff to address the challenges arising from the increased number of people seeking registration.
