The team at Range Anti-Narcotics cum Special Operation Cell Camp in Phase-7, Mohali, successfully apprehended a drug smuggler identified as Jatinder Singh, also known as Pal Singh. The arrest took place in Bairampur, Bhagomajra police station, Sohana district, Mohali.

The police seized 50 grams of heroin and a car from the possession of the accused smuggler. According to the police spokesperson, the arrest occurred during a blockade on the road leading from village Bairampur Bhagomajra to village Maujpur. The police party, led by SI Sukhwinder Singh, skillfully intercepted the car driven by Jatinder Singh. Upon questioning, the accused identified himself as Jatinder Singh, the younger son of Pal Singh, a resident of Bairampur, Bhagomajra police station, Sohana district, Sahibzada.

The car was searched, leading to the discovery of 50 grams of heroin near the gearbox of the front two seats. A case was registered under the NDPS Act at Sohana police station, resulting in the arrest of Jatinder Singh alias Chhota. The accused is also facing charges related to murder, assault, Arms Act, and robbery. The police secured a remand for further investigation and interrogation to determine the source and intended destination of the seized heroin.
