The World Book of Records, a British organisation, has recognised the Chandrashekar Srinivasan Mizoram Police with a coveted Gold Edition 2022 certificate for the “dedication and devotion” of its personnel.

The news of awards for “carrying out gigantic disposal of narcotics substances” (930.229 kg) in June and “seizure of the largest consignments of smuggled exotic animals” (468 species) was published by police in the northeastern state on Twitter on Monday night.

“Finally, we have it in our hands. The dedication and devotion of our officers and staff were widely acclaimed and duly recognised,” the tweet read.

The World Book of Records catalogues and authenticates outstanding records from all over the world. Its main goal is to document, recognise, catalogue, and judge actions that might be regarded as being of international calibre.

In Madhya, where the ceremony took place, Pu Lalhuliana Fanai, deputy inspector general (CID), accepted the diplomas on behalf of the Mizoram police force.

” We dedicate these awards to our family members, who remained in the background and supported us in all our endeavours. Public support and faith also make us strong and motivated. We will continue to strive to win many such laurels in the future, too,”  Mizoram Police said.
