Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains is set to unfurl the Tricolour at Shaheed Major Harminderpal Singh Government College, Mohali (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar) on Republic Day, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj Shyamkarn Tidke.
He emphasised the need for thorough preparations and directed all departments involved in the district-level Republic Day Celebrations to carry out their duties diligently. The programme will include advance rehearsals starting from January 22 at the college ground, with a full dress rehearsal on January 24 in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Aashika Jain and SSP Dr. Sandeep Garg.

Platoons of Police, Home Guards, and NCC cadets will be part of the Republic Day Parade, while students from various schools will participate in PT shows and a Cultural Bonanza. Exhibition stalls showcasing welfare and development schemes by various departments/Self Help Groups will also be featured.

ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke urged all departments to gear up for the National Day with joy and fervor, showcasing patriotism and integrity towards the nation and honoring freedom fighters and constitutional drafters.

The officers present at the meeting included Commissioner Mohali MC Mrs. Navjot Kaur, Divisional Forest Officer Kanwardeep Singh, ADC (Rural Development) Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary, ACA GMADA Amarinder Singh Tiawana, SDM Mohali Chandrajyoti Singh, Joint Commissioner MC Mohali Kiran Sharma, Chief Engineer Local Bodies Punjab Naresh Batta, Assistant Commissioner (G) Major (Retd.) Harjot Kaur Mavi, Field Officer Chief Minister Inder Pal, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Davy Goyal, DDPO Amaninder Pal Singh Chauhan, DEO Ginni Duggal, District Sports Officer Gurdeep Kaur, and Tehsildar Mohali Kuldeep Singh Dhillon.
