Now millets will be promoted in government guest houses like Circuit House, Rajasthan House, Jodhpur House and Rajasthan Bhawan of Mumbai. Under the 100-day action plan of the Bhajan Lal government, the General Administration Department has issued a circular regarding the decisions taken to promote millets.

Now millets-based dishes will be served to the guests in the meals of all government rest houses. Delicacies and dishes that have millet as their prime ingredient shall be promoted. Traditional dishes of Rajasthan like Bajra Khichdi, Maize and Bajra Roti shall be included in the menu. For the next 100 days, the menu of all rest houses will be based on millets, thereby giving priority to Rajasthani cuisine.

Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation is already promoting millets in all its hotels. In this, millets are being served to the people in the morning and evening along with breakfast. RTDC Officials say that people are gaining awareness about the health benefits of millet. Also, a large number of people are demanding millet in their food.

Along with this, ATMs will be installed in all the rest houses of the state as well as in the guest houses of the Rajasthan Government in Delhi and Mumbai. With this, people will get the facility to withdraw money as and when needed. Apart from this, now the facility of payment through UPI or POS machine will also be provided everywhere.

The unavailability of online services at many guest houses makes it difficult for the guests to make payments. Therefore, With the vision to provide proper facilities for transactions and make payments easier, the guest houses shall be properly equipped. This is so because; online payment facilities are not yet available in many places. Both these tasks have been included in the 100-day action plan. With these as a priority, the facilities in the rest houses will soon be expanded.

At the same time, the department has also started efforts to make division-level rest houses hi-tech. Soon, packaged food items will be available through vending machines in the Circuit House at the divisional level. That means biscuits, chips, snacks beverages etc. will be available from vending machines only. Also, special focus will be given to cleanliness and hygiene. Besides, the unused and damaged goods shall also be auctioned.
