Viral ‘Gender Reveal’ Blast in Gaza Sparks Outrage Against Israeli Soldiers

A chilling clip is trending on social media, purportedly showing Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers destroying a residential structure in Gaza during what seems to be a ‘gender reveal party’. The clip includes huge clouds of blue and grey smoke billowing from the debris, caused by explosives that soldiers allegedly planted.

In the background, people yell, “It’s a boy!” and then laugh, as smoke rises over the wreckage-scattered area. The video, as per an Al Jazeera report, was reportedly posted by Israeli soldiers themselves. But Israeli officials have yet to make an official statement on the authenticity or background of the video.

NDTV reported that it was unable to independently confirm the credibility of the video.

Social Media Responds with Outrage

The clip has sparked huge outrage on social media. One of the users on X referred to the act as “despicable” and named the people involved “worthless and inhumane.” Another user termed the act “demented”, while a third wondered, “How does the United Nations enable these criminals to perpetrate such horrors without retribution?”

The video has fueled existing controversy around Israeli actions in Gaza, where international human rights organizations have been increasingly critical over recent months.

Israel’s Gaza Policy Ramps Up

The Israeli government, meanwhile, has given the green light for taking over the whole Gaza Strip, increasing its long battle against Hamas. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared an “intensive” military campaign, indicating a permanent force presence in Gaza.

In a recorded message, Netanyahu stated the new strategy would ditch short-term tactical incursions for a long-term occupation policy. “The plan is the opposite,” he stated, suggesting more profound control over occupied territory.

Israeli forces now occupy roughly one-third of Gaza, having already driven thousands out and set up observation posts and so-called security zones.

Future Offensive Tied to Diplomatic Timing

As Reuters reports, the full-scale operation would be launched only after US President Donald Trump finishes his imminent visit to the Middle East. This plan, if implemented, has the potential for greater displacement of Gaza’s civilian population and increased international criticism.

A senior Israeli official was quoted by Reuters as saying the intention was to relocate Gaza’s civilians further south and prevent humanitarian aid from reaching Hamas.
