The group was started by 22-year-old Taylor Swift fan Emerald Medrano, who wanted fellow Swifties to help campaign for Harris and raise awareness about the importance of voting. Medrano urged fans to get involved and help push Democratic votes to prevent what they see as threats to democracy.

‘Swifties For Kamala’ is just one of many grassroots groups supporting Harris. Other groups include White Dudes For Harris, Deadbeats For Harris, Black Women for Harris, Disabled Voters for Harris, Cat Ladies for Harris, and Comics For Harris.
